There once was a little girl with freckles....
who grew up to be a dermatologist with freckles. I've always liked my spots, thankfully. And now, I spend most of my work day convincing others to do the same. I'm a dermatologist, full time mom, wife and cheap skate. I'm also a bit of a cynic which makes me a tricky sale for the drug reps. My approach to skin care is simple, practical and science-based. One of my favorite past-times is going to the makeup counter at a fancy department store (wearing flip flops and no makeup of course ) and asking them to explain to me how their super-cream-of-the-moment works. It's a great way to kill a few hours. Very entertaining to hear all the ridiculousness that can be purportedly smashed into a very expensive 1 ounce glass jar. I usually tell them I'm a pastor or stripper or something just to shake things up. I also thoroughly enjoy the looks of horror I receive when I tell them I wash my face with Dove soap. Good times.
I love being a doctor. And I adore that I have been blessed with the opportunity to encourage people daily at my office and in my home. I get such a kick out of it that I decided to do some cyber encouraging (and educating) through this website. After all, somebody's got to remind you that you are beautiful and valuable in the very skin God gave you. Why not me?
Thanks for stopping by.
